Introduction
Two years ago, I wrote about Circuit Makati Event Grounds as one of the few green spaces in Metro Manila. As of March 2025, most of the original concert stage area is now closed off for redevelopment.
The Contemporary Arts Center
According to the official Circuit Makati facebook page, this area will be where the new Contemporary Arts Center will rise. While the arts center will definitely be a boon for the area in the arts, I am sad to lose one of the few green spaces we have Makati.
A New Hope?
While the closure of the area has been a disappointment, there has been more activity in another closed off area that used to be the location of the former Sta. Ana Park. A week ago, we noticed that a section of that area has been opened up as shortcut to walk directly to Shopwise. While there hasn’t been any official announcement, the activity in that area seems to point to another open green space opening for Makati residents.
