Visit: Circuit Makati Event Grounds

This series is an attempt to document open spaces in Metro Manila that everyone should visit and enjoy for some relaxing time outside of work and studies.

Circuit Makati Event Grounds in the early morning

At the top left corner of the city of Makati where it meets Manila is where you can find Circuit Makati Event Grounds. The grounds is an open space with an area for live musical performances that forms part of the Circuit Makati Mall Complex with its offices and condos, performing arts theater, soccer field, and, of course, a mall. The land development is owned by a joint venture between Ayala Land and the Philippine Racing Club (PRC).

The Circuit Event Grounds is perfect for the early morning jog and the late afternoon walk. The event grounds is my go-to place for some fresh air (in the morning) and walks in the city, due to its proximity to me and how it is conveniently near everything else I would need, grocery store, and coffee shop.

The area itself is used during concerts and other performances. The event grounds are usually cordoned off by tall temporary walls to thwart any would be concert freebooters.

Santiago & Libertad Cua Park in Circuit Makati Event Grounds

Circuit grounds includes the Santiago & Libertad Cua Park, a skate park and a dog park and if you’re not the type to skate or have a pet, these additions do make the place more interesting and lively. There are fenced areas as well for small and big dogs. The rest of the area is perfect for picnics with your friends and/or family and some active sports such badminton or frisbee.

Circuit Makati mall and its surrounding sits on top what was previously the PRC’s original horse racing circuit. This is where the establishments surrounding the area get the “PRC” in what essentially is a busy highway at the end of Chino Roces Avenue (e.g., “Jollibee PRC” and “Mcdo PRC”).

Circuit grounds is beside Pasig river and makes the early morning sunrise quite unique with a serene view of the tall buildings with a view of a river that separates Makati and Mandaluyong.

All in all, Circuit Grounds is worth a visit on an early weekend morning or a late afternoon alone, with friends and/or your family. For a guide on how to commute to Ayala Malls Circuit Makati, check out my post on how to commute by jeep, e-jeep, and bus.

Things to Note:

  • If you’re visiting early in the morning, most of the mall will be closed. Only Tim Hortons, Shopwise Circuit (grocery store) and the 711 inside the mall will be open. The mall proper opens at 11am.
